Privacy policy

Celestrike is made and published by Andrew Ireland, an independent developer. Contact for any privacy question: privacy@celestrike.com.

What the app stores

Everything the game knows about you is written to local storage on your own device and is never transmitted to us. That is:

• Your fleet — orbital elements, remaining delta-v and subsystem health for each satellite.
• Which ground sites you have discovered and tasked, and the intel accrued against them.
• Game settings and progress flags.

This data has no identifier attached to it and never leaves the device. Deleting the app deletes it. There is no cloud save in this version, which also means there is no way for us to recover a save you have deleted.

What the app does not do

• No account, email address, name or login of any kind.
• No advertising, and no advertising identifier (IDFA) is requested.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting or attribution SDK. The only third-party SDK in the app handles purchases, and is described below.
• No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• No location access, no contacts, no photos, no microphone, no camera.
• No data is sold or shared with data brokers. Ever.

Purchases

The game is free to play. It offers optional in-app purchases of in-game hours, used to fast-forward the game clock. Buying them is never required.

Payment is handled entirely by the app store — Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your name, email address, card or payment details.

To confirm a purchase and add the hours to your game, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-processing service. When you buy something, RevenueCat receives:

• The purchase itself — which pack, its price and currency, the date, and the store's transaction identifier.
• A random, anonymous identifier RevenueCat creates for your installation of the app. It is not linked to your name, email or any account, and we do not attach one.
• Basic technical details needed to process the purchase, such as the app version, device platform, country or store region, and your IP address.

We use this only to deliver what you bought, to prevent fraud, and to see how many purchases are made. It is not used for advertising or to track you, and it is not sold. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and the store's own privacy policy for how they handle it.

The hours you buy are stored in your game save on your device, like everything else in the game.

This website

celestrike.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no tracking pixels. Two things are worth stating plainly:

• Cloudflare processes your IP address in order to serve the page and to protect the site from abuse, and keeps short-lived security and performance logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts serves the Inter typeface used across the site, which means your browser requests a file from fonts.gstatic.com and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. See Google's privacy policy.

If you email us, we receive whatever you put in the email and keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.

Children

Celestrike is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Purchases go through the app store, whose own parental controls apply, and the purchase record RevenueCat holds carries no name or contact details.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and comparable laws you have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. If you have never made a purchase, there is nothing held about you to disclose or erase. If you have, the only record is the anonymous purchase record described above; email us and we will have it deleted. Your in-game data is deleted by deleting the app. Anything you would like to ask about this policy can be raised with us at privacy@celestrike.com and we will help.

Changes

If a future version of the game adds anything else that changes this — cloud saves, accounts, or a multiplayer world — this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. We will not quietly start collecting data under an old policy.
